Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest is a sparkling comedy of mistaken identities, secret lives, and romantic entanglements. In nineteenth century England, being sensible can be excessively boring. At least Jack Worthing thinks so. While assuming the role of dutiful guardian in the country, he lets loose in London under a false identity. Meanwhile, his friend Algernon Moncrieff takes on a similar facade. Unfortunately, living a double life has its drawbacks, especially when it comes to love, and their deceptions quickly spiral out of control when love enters the picture. Hoping to impress two eligible ladies, the gentlemen find themselves caught in a web of lies they must carefully navigate. As two young women become determined to marry men named "Ernest," a series of hilarious misunderstandings, unexpected arrivals, and surprising revelations turns courtship into chaos. Filled with witty dialogue, memorable characters, and Wilde's sharp satire of social conventions, The Importance of Being Earnest remains one of the most beloved comedies in the English language. This timeless farce celebrates the absurdity of appearances, the pursuit of love, and the surprising importance of being earnest. 📖 Cast Information for Performances Cast A will perform on November 7th in the evening and November 8th in the afternoon.
