Crescent Community Clinic
5244 Commercial Way, Spring Hill, FL, 34606
Crescent Community Clinic is a free charitable clinic on Commercial Way in Spring Hill that provides medical care to Hernando County adults who have no insurance and limited income. Local news reports have described it as the only free clinic in the county, and it operates without government funding, relying instead on private donations, grants and a corps of volunteer physicians and support staff. The clinic opened in 2008 and offers general checkups and screenings for chronic conditions, among them diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, asthma, COPD, arthritis, epilepsy and obesity. Volunteer doctors, nurses and other professionals staff the clinic, and, at times, patients also receive help with medications and medical equipment. Care is free, and while donations are accepted, patients who cannot give are not turned away. The clinic does, however, have eligibility rules. Patients must be Hernando County residents between the ages of 18 and 64, uninsured, and within federal poverty guidelines. New patients should be ready to bring a photo ID, a Social Security card, and proof of income and residency. Requirements can change, so it is wise to ask about them before applying. The clinic sees patients by appointment only and does not take walk-ins. Posted hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., although hours and volunteer schedules can change, so it is best to call ahead at (352) 610-9916. Crescent Community Clinic is at 5244 Commercial Way in Spring Hill. Its website is crescentclinic.org, and the clinic accepts donations from individuals and businesses that want to support free care in the community.
