Lead Foot City calls itself America's Automotive Theme Park, and the scale on Old Ayers Road in Brooksville goes some way to justifying it. The complex is built around the idea that things you cannot legally do on a public road should have somewhere to happen properly. The racing surfaces come first. The 8th Street Dragstrip is a concrete eighth-mile drag strip. Achilles Arena handles drifting and motorsports events. Send It Square is a legal burnout pit, which is exactly what it sounds like. There is also a drift pad of roughly five acres used for drifting, autocross and high-speed events. Around the racing sits a full entertainment complex. The Overdrive Amphitheater hosts concerts. The Gear Head Grille and Bar handles food and drink. There is an indoor glow-kart drift karting track, and The Grand Ole Garage is an outdoor pavilion. Lead Foot City Hall is the convention side, with rooms including the Wheelie Bar, the Pit Stop Lounge, the Auto-torium, the Carcade, and a VIP speakeasy called the Mayor's Lair. The recurring events are Floor It Friday drag racing and Send It Saturday Drift Fest. Beyond those, Lead Foot University runs drift and drag classes, and the site books private drift days, car shows and cruise-ins, concerts, corporate events, and private parties down to birthdays and gender reveals. More is under construction. The site lists Lake Lead Foot for watersports, 4xForest offroad trails, Mount Oilympus, and a Main Street Market as coming soon. One thing to get right before driving out: the office hours and the event hours are different things. The office is open Tuesday to Friday, 10 AM to 4 PM, and closed Mondays, with facility tours by appointment. The park itself opens for scheduled events, largely on Friday nights and weekends.
