Marker 48 Brewing

12147 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL, 34613

Marker 48 Brewing sits on Cortez Boulevard on the Highway 50 corridor, and it holds a claim worth stating plainly: it is described as Hernando County's first full production craft brewery, meaning it brews at scale rather than operating as a taproom for someone else's beer. The building runs to about 6,000 square feet, split between an indoor tasting room and an outdoor beer garden. That split is the point. You can sit inside with the tanks or outside in the garden, and the brewery leans into the second option with garden features and open space. The tap list rotates. Red Right Return is the beer reviewers name most often, and the brewery also pours a house root beer, which matters if you are bringing people who are not drinking. Happy hour runs daily from noon to 6 PM. There is no kitchen. Food comes from trucks that rotate through the lot, so what is available changes and it is worth checking before you plan a meal around it. A merchandise shop and rotating art displays fill out the space. The brewery welcomes families and dogs, and reviewers consistently describe the atmosphere as relaxed and community oriented rather than a destination bar. Live music is reported on weekends, and the schedule is worth confirming before you build an evening around it. The taproom is open Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 10 PM, Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 PM, and Sunday from noon to 7 PM. It is closed Tuesday. Monday opening varies, so call (352) 606-2509 first if Monday is your only option. Current tap list, event calendar and food truck schedule are posted at marker48.com and on the brewery's Facebook page.
