Pine Island Beach
10840 Pine Island Dr., Spring Hill, FL, 34607
Alfred McKethan / Pine Island Park is Hernando County's only Gulf-front beach park, a roughly seven-acre stretch of white sand at the end of Pine Island Drive. The park offers calm shallow water for swimming, a playground, sand volleyball, pavilions with grills, restrooms, changing rooms and outdoor showers, plus a seasonal snack bar and a food truck pad. It is also one of the county's premier birding spots, with more than 160 species recorded from the beach, mudflats and observation deck, and it appears on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. Rebuilt with storm-resilient pavilions, sidewalks and 1,100 cubic yards of replenished sand after damage from Hurricanes Idalia, Helene and Milton, the park reopened in August 2025. It is open daily from 8:30 AM to sunset, and parking is 5 dollars per vehicle, card only — the park closes temporarily when the lot reaches capacity.
