Temple Beth David

13158 Antelope St, Spring Hill, FL, 34609

Temple Beth David has been Spring Hill's Jewish congregation since 1972. Its home on Antelope Street, completed in 1986, was expanded in 1998 with the Forbes Family Sanctuary, and the congregation remains the center of Jewish religious life in Hernando County. It is a member of the Jewish Gulf Coast Federation. Worship is the foundation. Shabbat services are held on Friday evenings at 7 p.m. and on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m., and both can be joined live on Zoom, a practical option for members who are traveling, homebound or live at a distance. Education is the other pillar. The Irwin Lieberman Religious School meets on Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon, serving the congregation's children. The congregation describes itself in slightly different ways: its Our Story page describes a Reform congregation, while its home page calls the temple independent. Visitors with questions about its practices and customs are encouraged to ask the office. The temple office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and can be reached at (352) 686-7034. The congregation's website, tbdspringhill.com, lists the holiday schedule and upcoming events, and updates are also posted on its Facebook page at facebook.com/tbdfl.
