The City of Brooksville Parks & Recreation department oversees the city's parks, recreation programs, facility rentals and community events from the Jerome Brown Community Center, 99 Jerome Brown Place. The department maintains a network of public parks, which are generally open from dawn to dusk, with lighted areas closing by 11 p.m. Among them are Tom Varn Park on Darby Lane, Bud McKethan Park on John Gary Grubbs Boulevard, Hernando Park, Russell Street Park, which serves as the western trailhead of the Good Neighbor Trail, and The Quarry, a 20-hole disc golf course. The Jerome Brown Community Center itself is a hub for indoor activity. Programming reaches across age groups.
