House of Light Yoga — 12560 Spring Hill Dr., Spring Hill, FL

This is a 90-minute, unheated workshop where we'll learn about the anatomy of the hip joint, the specificities of the hip flexor muscle group, and how our hip alignment informs so many common yoga poses. In the first 45 minutes, we'll dive into hip anatomy, complete with a visualization on the studio's skeletal model. We'll also practice targeted mobility exercises you can easily incorporate into your home practice. In the second 45 minutes, we'll move through common standing and mat-based poses, checking in on our alignment through our newfound anatomical lens. Gentle, hands-on assists will be offered where appropriate and with consent. Each participant will receive a take-home booklet containing the anatomical information covered, a guide to the mobility exercises, and a hip-alignment breakdown for poses like Warrior 1, Warrior 2, Extended Side Angle, Triangle, Pyramid, Warrior 3, Half Moon, Dancer, Pigeon, Bird Dog, among others. Cost is $25 and only 12 spots are available, so secure your space soon by registering on MindBody via the studio's website. There are currently two scholarship spots available. If you'd like to attend but cannot work it into your budget, please reach out to the workshop facilitator, Ben, at or in person at the studio. Looking forward to seeing you there!
